PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma. It is obtained by taking a sample of blood, then separating it from the red blood cells. It is then injected into different areas for rejuvenation. It can be injected into the scalp for rejuvenation of the hair follicles. Hair must be present for this procedure to be effective. PRP can also be injected into the skin for rejuvenation of collagen, elastin and subcutaneous fat. This helps to lift, tighten and plump the treated areas. Areas must often treated are the face, decollate (chest), and hands.
PRP can also be used during microneedling for a PRP facial. You’ll get similar benefits as the injections. This method is great for not only rejuvenation, but acne scars as well.
